A new Supergroup Hoping for a World Tour

Hi Everyone

ree

As you probably already know, as someone who is approaching middle age, pop music of the last thirty years has passed me by. I am still in the age of jazz, James Taylor and Tony Bennett. I am, however, aware of a group called the Atomic Kittens, although I have no idea what type of music they played. Now it appears that a new supergroup is gaining popularity, the Neuclea Warheads with Mr China on the Chinese gongs, Modi from India on the Sitar, that funny little man from North Korea on the triangle, with Putin beating the drums, of course. Not sure what type of music they are planning to play, but if it is Rap, they will  be completely incomprehensible both to each other and us. Come to think of it, if they sang rap in English, I would still not be able to understand it. Perhaps the best thing they could do is cover some Beatles songs like “I want to hold your hand” or “All you need is love”, or if all that fails, “Help” could be an encore. Although Trump has had “Great meetings” with all of them, as he has not been invited to join the group, he is now planning to present them with an American built tariff free Yellow Submarine in the hope that he will never see them again.

Back in the 1950s I had a group. We all played conventional instruments, so the Chinese gongs and Sitar did not feature, and as I did not progress beyond the triangle in our local infants' school, that was definitely out. My first instrument was the clarinet, before later also playing the saxophone. If I have one regret, it would be not learning to play the piano as a child, but as the Senior Partner was tight with money and as someone who had little interest in music, it is not surprising that we never owned a piano. Now, not only do I love music, but as someone who only achieved a moderate ability to master the instruments, I am in awe when listening to people who have gone through the ten thousand hours of practice needed to achieve mastery of their instrument, and that does not include the word talent that some even more special than others. The members of the Neuclea Warheads might think that they are important, but my special admiration is reserved for musicians rather than politicians. Perhaps if they followed my example, we would all live in a more peaceful world.

A friend told me this week that if I make critical remarks about Trump on social media, I would likely be barred from entering his country. I say ‘his country’ as he obviously thinks that nobody matters but him. I have to admit that I publish this Rubbish on Facebook, so despite the fact that we have enjoyed some wonderful trips in America and met many of it’s very friendly citizens, we would not be welcome to drive his roads while listening to Country and Western music and eating a foot long dog. Anyway, my defence would be that I am not criticising him but just repeating the opinions of many of his own people. Now we have the prospect of electing Trump Mark 2 in our next elections. No doubt I will have some less than favourable remarks to say about him, so my future here in this country is obviously going to be at risk. That is unless the Neuclea Warheads decide to go on a world tour.

Just a Thought :

My friend started a band called 999 Megabytes. They never got a gig.

What is the most musical part of your body? Your nose you can blow and pick it.

What did the critic say when the clock was invented? About time too.
