Important Letters to You Know Who

Hi Everyone

You must be by now aware that our new friendly Prime Minister Andy, is keen to make our lives a little easier as we grapple with inflation and the cost of energy, which predictably is rising to its highest level for three years in October, just as we have to switch on our heating again. With that in mind and an issue I have with him about the free solar panels scheme that the government is offering until the middle of next year, I decided to find out how friendly he intends to be by writing to him personally. Of course, I am not expecting a personal reply ending with “Your friend Andy” but what I am hoping is that I will receive a prompt reply that does not look AI generated. The point that I am making to him is that only properties with lower energy ratings meet the criteria for providing free solar panels. I think that the age of the occupants living in the properties should also be taken into consideration, as those of us approaching middle age are more likely to spend most of our days at home during the winter months, with solar panels providing a welcome reduction in our energy costs as well as making some small contribution to the problems of global warming. I bet you cannot wait to see what happens next.

When I was at school, my favourite subject was geography, for which I always got high marks in exams. When I took my school report home at the end of the school year, the Senior Partner targeted the subjects where the teacher commented “must do better” or “does not appear to be interested” or some other critical remark while completely ignoring my better achievements. At A level, geography was divided into physical and regional subjects. With regional geography, we had the choice of studying Europe, North America, South America, Africa, etc. We decided on North America, and I especially remember the Cotton Belt and the Great Lakes. Now at this point you are thinking, hasn’t he got anything better to do but write this Rubbish every week? Well, I was thinking exactly the same thing when Trump signed one of his executive orders changing Lake Ontario into Lake America while posing for the cameras with that smug look on his face. Just another petty gesture in another war he is losing, this time with Canada. If I decide to also write to him, I would request a blank copy of an executive order which I would fill in to prevent him from writing another order ever again.

Now the temperatures have dropped, and the rain has come to the relief of many. The big bonus is that I have not had to mow the Main Contractor's lawn for weeks, but a quick inspection shows that luxury will soon come to an end. I can now imagine some people now saying “What climate change?” but that is exactly why we have the problem now. Don’t be complacent; the clock is still ticking.

Just a Thought:

My friend’s wife found out he was cheating when she found some letters he was hiding. She refused to play Scrabble with him ever again.

I thought I was good at geography until I got a new TV which said on the box “Built in Antenna”. Will someone let me known which continent that is on.

We haven’t found a solution to climate change yet, but we are definitely getting warmer.

Brian
