Is it the Truth or just Brain Fog

Hi Everyone

During my lifetime, our lives have been affected by a number of baddies like Hitler, Franco, Tito, Stalin, Mussolini, Idi Amin, and a few others around the world. Generally, they have either seized power or abused the power that the population has given them. On the other side are what is generally regarded as the goodies, as they are democratically elected and then removed from power as someone emerges that the public think can do a better job. That list would include all of our Prime Ministers, most European leaders and those from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the US and no doubt many more. It seems to me that all of them have an impossible job with the baddies having blood on their hands in order to retain power while the goodies have an impossible task trying to keep their voters on side while juggling domestic and world events. All the goodies have made mistakes but nearly all have made decisions that they genuinely think will benefit their people. Now there has been what is generally seen to be a fairly clear demarcation line with the goodies working within their countries' rules and seeking proper authorisation from their political colleagues and opponents. Suddenly, the situation has become blurred by you know who. No doubt the leader of Venezuela is a baddie, and equally the leader of Ukraine is a goodie, while Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark. Now he claims that he is running Venezuela, not properly supporting Ukraine to ensure that an illegal and senseless invasion of a sovereign country does not succeed and not recognising that Greenland does not belong to him and is not for sale. The common denominator in all this seems to be oil and minerals, and his personal greed. That all of this seems to be taking place without the proper consideration of his own country's laws and international law is frightening. Even more frightening is that all of the other goodies seem to be hiding behind the cupboard door hoping it will all go away, rather than standing up to the bully that he is.

I can remember when we had real fog, which in our city was made worse by a combination of fog and the permanent pall of smoke generated by the pottery industry. We experienced a number of occasions when the visibility in front of our car was no more than 10 yards, and it was not unknown for a passenger to walk in front of the car to guide us to safety. Having had a frightening experience in thick fog on a motorway, I made a decision never to repeat that experience, and fortunately, I never did. Now those ‘peasuper’ fogs seem to be a thing of the past as a heavy mist now seems to be the worst hazard. Not to be outdone, fog has now moved on and has recently reemerged as brain fog. Now, when I look back, I remember people saying that someone “is not thinking straight”. It appears that we now have to give it a name in order for it to be the next thing to put even more pressure on our doctors and hospitals. Now as I follow the news, I am preparing a list of people who do not appear to be thinking straight. The length of my list is frightening.
I am not sure why it is still called a mobile phone, as it now does so much more. In the days before the mobile phone, what happened in controversial incidents relied on eyewitnesses who gave their version of what happened. Now, almost every incident is filmed from all angles by many people. You would think that would produce a definitive account of what took place, but no, now we have people who spin the truth to try to persuade us that their version of the truth is the right one. Having watched the incident in the US this week a number of times, I am convinced what is the real version of events is, but now we have people who see it differently for their own ends, and of course, we now have AI to help them bend the truth. What seems to be of little concern in this incident is that an innocent woman, probably frightened by the situation she found herself in, was killed.
Just a Thought:
You know you are a world leader when your biggest challenge is deciding which continent to annoy today.
My memory is not what it used to be. My memory is not what it used to be.
My friend forgot how to throw a boomerang, but then it came back to him.
